(Im)permanence

“My tattoos are permanent — it's my BODY that's temporary. And so is yours. We're here on earth for a very short while. I just want to decorate my temporary self as playfully and beautifully as I can, while I still have time.”
– A Woman in Big Magic, by Elizabeth Gilbert

My tattoos help me remember things that are all too easy for me to forget. These are some of my most meaningful and necessary reminders of this temporary life and body:

Explore the curves.
Small moves.
Wherever you are...that’s the place to be.*
Yes.

These messages to myself are joined by new adornments—crystal bracelets on my left wrist—which have taken the place of the device that tells me the time but isn’t as helpful in reminding me of the beauty in how I choose to pass time in this temporary life:

Ground me in love.
I am enough.
Relax and heal.
